A Day: American Revolution Documents

Hello everyone!  Today we discussed the causes of the American Revolution.  We researched various laws and events that increased the tension between the American colonists and the British government.  We analyzed opinions of both sides in order to fully understand the motivations behind the laws or events.  In the beginning of next class, we will answer the question: Were the American colonists justified in breaking away from Great Britain?

For homework, please finish the worksheet that we began in class.  Also, I handed out a packet relating to the Founding Documents of our nation.  Please read the primary sources (Thomas Paine's Common Sense, the United States Declaration of Independence, and the United States Bill of Rights) and answer the questions at the end of the packet.  Please note that #7 is extra credit.

Also, remember that your test will be on Monday (for Periods 7-8 and 9-10) and Wednesday (for Periods 3-4).  The study guide will be due on the day of the test.  REMEMBER THAT THE STUDY GUIDE IS ONLY A GUIDE, and not the test.  You should still study any notes or worksheets that you have.  Email me with any questions that you have.
