Hi everyone! Today we analyzed the various influences on Renaissance art. For homework, you are to take a step further and research an artist, writer, or architect from the Renaissance. Please research a specific person and then look up two works from that person. Please write about both pieces of art and the various influences on the two pieces.
For example, you could analyze two buildings by Brunelleschi (Renaissance architect) and describe within two paragraphs what influenced his designs. Such answers could be Greek and Roman architecture, science, humanism, religion, background of the architect, etc. The two works that you choose CAN NOT be ones that we have already looked at during class.
Lastly, you should write a couple of sentences on whether you believe religion and its officials lost power during the Renaissance or if you think that it retained it during the time period. Why do you believe so?
