Hello everyone! Today we discussed why Europeans began exploring the interior of Africa and claiming territory. We looked at the impact of individuals such as Dr. David Livingstone, Sir Henry Morton Stanley, and King Leopold II on developing these areas.
For homework, you are to read the article I have handed out relating to a specific country that was taken over by a European power. You are to write an editorial of around 1-2 paragraphs arguing why imperialism is positive or negative by using the country assigned as an example. Please email me if you have any questions.

Hello everyone! Yesterday we began the 2nd part of our lessons relating to the Industrial Revolution. We discussed the rise of unions during the time period and compared their methods to different methods used by unions today.
