Periods 1-2 (B Day): Restoration and Glorious Revolution

Hello everyone.  Yesterday we analyzed the issues in England during the 17th century between the king and Parliament.  We discussed the outcome of the English Civil War, in which King Charles I was beheaded.  For homework, you are to read pp. 615-617 within your textbook and take notes.  Please also read the English Bill of Rights (located on the back of the English Petition of Right).  The following outline is the one that  I composed in class.  Make sure you fill in details for each if you decide to use this format:

C.  Results of the English Civil War
     1.)  Military Dictatorship- Oliver Cromwell
     2.)  Restoration- Charles II
3.)  Tories v. Whigs (James II) and the Glorious Revolution
4.)  Establishment of the constitutional monarchy (William and Mary)

Furthermore, please remember that your test is on Friday.  The study guide will be due on the same day.  Email me if you have any questions.  Have a great day!

~Mr. Mazur
