Periods 3-4 (A Day): Zheng He

Hello everyone!  As you know, Monday is Columbus Day.  Therefore, our last lesson focused on whether Americans should celebrate this holiday.  We discussed the possibility that the Chinese may have arrived in the Americas before Columbus.  During Thursday's class we discussed the Ming Dynasty and the voyages of Zheng He.  For homework, you are to read the article about the exhibition on the voyages of Zheng He.  Within the article, the author points out several pieces of evidence that Zheng He may have arrived in the Americas.  Please read the article and write down the pieces of evidence that are provided.  However, please remember that most historians refute the claims that Zheng He had arrived in the Americas.  As you look at the evidence, please question whether this evidence is enough to assume that they had arrived during that time.

Have a great Columbus Day!
