Revolution in China

Hey everyone! Yesterday we discussed European and American imperialism in China and Japan. For homework, you are specifically going to see how European influence brought about the demise of the Qing Dynasty. Please read the handout that I gave to you in class. You must read about the fall of the Qing Dynasty and answer #2-7 on the last page of the handout.

Imperialism in India

Hey everyone! Yesterday we had presentations on various reactions to European and American imperialism. We will finish the last presentations tomorrow.

For homework, please read pp. 791-795 and take notes on British imperialism in India. Some important points to look for are the extent of British control during the 19th-20th centuries, reactions to this control, and various policies that either helped or hurt India.

Resistance to Imperialism Presentation

Hello everybody! Yesterday we discussed the effects of imperialism on the colonized people of an area. We also discussed the various forms of control and imperialism and how it affected a society.

For homework, you are continuing your research for your specific nation or conflict. Please remember that you must hand in notes as evidence that you continued your research throughout the weekend. We will only have 30 minutes on Monday to create your presentation. THERE WILL BE NO MORE RESEARCH ON MONDAY. All research should be finished over the weekend.

For homework, you are to complete the worksheet on analyzing bias. The two primary sources are different opinions on imperialism: one for and one against. Unification of Germany

Hey everyone. Yesterday we discussed how Camillo di Cavour and King Victor Emmanuel II pushed forward the idea of unification and how this goal was eventually achieved. For homework, you are going to be learning about another nation that became unified during this time period: Germany. Please read pp. 692-697 and take notes on the pages. I will walk around and check your written notes in the beginning of class.
