Periods 9-10 (B Day): Inca Empire

Hello everyone! Today we learned about Hernando Cortes and his role in the downfall of the Aztec Empire. During next class we will debate the role of Cortes and la Malinche in creating "modern Mexico." For the past two classes, I prepared you with information on the Aztec Empire so that you can compare it to the Incan Empire.  Therefore, you have two assignments for homework:

1.)  Read the packet on the culture of the Inca Empire.  ONLY READ THE PARAGRAPHS WITH STARS NEXT TO THEM.  When you are finished, write similarities that you found between the Aztec and Inca Empire.

2.)  Read the article about the fall of the Inca Empire and answer the questions.

Please remember that your next test will be on November 27.  You may start studying for this test now.  You will receive a study guide on next Tuesday.  Have a great day!

Periods 1-2 (B Day): Incan Empire

Hello everyone! Today we learned about Hernando Cortes and his role in the downfall of the Aztec Empire. During next class we will debate the role of Cortes and la Malinche in creating "modern Mexico." As I reminded everyone in class, your travel brochures for the Aztec Empire are due during next class. I have been receiving several emails relating to the assignment due to my poor wording in the previous blog. Remember that the Aztec Empire is not around today due to Cortes. You are to make the travel brochure as if you are living during the 16th century. Within the brochure, you are giving important information about the empire. Please email me if you are confused about the assignment.
Also, you are to read the article that I handed out for homework. The article explains the details behind the downfall of the Incan Empire. Please read the article and answer the questions.
The test for our colonization unit will be on November 27. You may begin to study for this test. A study guide will be given to you in about a week. Have a great day!
